SUCCESS STORIES
"My primary goals for this course were to obtain credits to maintain my ICF certification, gain insight into leadership standards and expectations in the Federal government, and to step outside my private-sector ‘comfort zone’ by taking a public-sector oriented course. The course has exceeded my expectations.
This AGMC course has forced me to return to the fundamentals, reviewing the ICF competencies with care and doing some serious thinking about my own best practices in executive coaching. I am a firm believer in mastering the fundamentals, whether in sports, music or work, and this course forced me to re-visit the fundamentals of coaching best practice as defined by the ICF. Although I have been coaching international executives since the late 1990s, I’ve never had the opportunity to use my coaching toolbox for such a specific and clearly defined end, let alone for writing, something I did quite seriously for a number of years. It has been a useful exercise, and one that should help me be a more aware and impactful coach – as well as writer and editor – when I return to my usual milieu.
I benefitted from the coaching perspectives and insights of the faculty and of my two colleagues in the course. In sum, it has been an enriching and worthwhile. I’ve learned, been challenged, and met some fine people. Thank you and well done."
